Can your period start while swimming?

Hey ok so Im going swimming with my bff, Im 12 shes 13. Im not on my period at the moment but its around the time it should be comming. If i dont have my period but im going swimming can it start while in my the pool? And if not once i get out of the water does it admetly start?? I dont use tampons eather.
